Mob psycho 100 is an anime series with a theme based on the mind power also known as the telekinesis power. It is recently launched anime series which has comedy, fighting action scenes, and much more. It has gathered much popularity in a short span of time.
Mob Psycho 100 is a great anime to watch as it is packed with action and fun. You might need a few episodes to adjust according to the animation style. But it is a must-watch for all the anime lovers. This is one of the anime which have overpowered protagonists with awesome fighting scenes all over the series.
Overview –
The story of mob psycho 100 revolves around the emotional less guy shown in the above picture. Mob-Kun gains his psychic powers at a very small age. He can’t use spoons because just looking at them makes them twist due to his psychic powers. He works for a ghost Hunter agency using his powers for the good of the society.
Protagonist works for a guy named Arataka Reigen who owns a ghost cleanser company. The owner of the company himself doesn’t have any psychic powers and he is fully dependent on the Mob for his works.
Although he has some of the special moves like cleaning salt fist, ghost cleaning massages, and many more moves that will scare the heck out of the ghost society (Just kidding he is just a con artist).Afterward, they find and organization of the psychics, and here comes the twist in the story.
As Mob-Kun has these awesome powers the source of his power comes from these personal emotions and feelings. Everything has some pros and cons. In his case, he doesn’t feel any emotions and feelings and in exchange, he gets these awesome powers. His emotions and feelings are stored till the capacity reach 100 and burst and at this time he is at his highest level of psychic powers. The whole world twists when he is in his highest form.
Mob-Kun is really a simple-minded guy who just wants to live a normal life. He has a school crush that he wants to impress and he even works out to make his body strong with the strongest club in his school. But he lacks in every field of life except for his psychic powers.
Now Mob is really scared of his own powers and that’s the reason for his job after the school where he uses his powers under the guidance of Arataka Reigen. As he works and helps the people in his society he meets many psychic people like him and many of them are using their powers for their very own benefit.
So this series also contains little of the philosophical terms in the world of psychics.
Why should you watch Mob Psycho 100?
Full of action and Awesome fights –
It is really hard to imagine what this guy with a Bowl hair cut can do. If you look at the expression and his build for the first time many of us will not believe that this guy is the Protagonist of this series. But this guy is overpowered as hell. Many of the starting episodes end in seconds as the opponents always undermine him.
The enemy or the bad guys in this series are the ghost and demons of the world that take advantage of the people around them. But the series has changed the perception of the ghost and demons from the minds of the anime fans. As the ghost and demons in this series are most colorful and glossy as hell. They look like worms and purple colored blobs.
The fighting animations of this series are really great. The fights are super-duper fast and flashy. For a first-timer who hasn’t seen any series with the psychic and esper powered themes. The only psychic move and fight he can imagine are Psyduck giving his psychic move with both hands on his heads and concentrating for an hour to move stuff with his mind.
The fighting scenes can really be compared to the fight of the dragon ball Z and other top Tier anime. As it also contains a lot of wreckage in the fight scenes, as the character breakthrough buildings and other things like a piece of cake.
Not only this but every psychic character in this series is having a unique power and is not the same. Many of them use other forms of Telekinesis such as pyrokinesis, Geokinesis, hydrokinesis, and many more. Overall this anime is really a good fit for the title of Shonen anime.
Gags and fun –
Apart from the fighting scenes this anime also has a good balance of funny moments. It is fun to watch and overpowered character having a tough time doing the normal activities that even a normal person can do with ease.
The Character Arataka Reigen is the main center of attention when it comes to the comedy scenes. Not only his moves are hilarious but he also uses his tactics to control Mob and keep him in control. The fact that he acts tough in front of the demons from whom he is scared to death just to act tough in the eyes of Mob-Kun is really funny and hilarious. The character’s expression also plays a very important role in the funny moments of the anime.
New animation style –
Many of the animation companies and Mangakas try a different type of animation and drawing style to stand out of the competitive environments. The animation at the beginning of the anime might feel crappy as the animation does not contain any intricate detailing and that much of a gradient and shadings.
The proportion of the eyes, nose, and the whole face may also feel like a bit off. But many of the anime fans liked this animation especially for the fight scenes as this anime has one of the most colorful and vibrant visual fights. If you want a change of pace from the normal type of animation this is really a great choice.

Pros and Cons of Mob Psycho 100 –
Pros –
Apart from the long discussion that we had about why you should watch Mob psycho 100, there are many other pros that makes this anime special. The animation is really the main factor here. The main hero, the protagonist is also unique and not the kind of good looking anime protagonist that you find in every second anime you watch.
The characters are unique with the undivided attention and proper character development even if he has a really small part in the anime. The pace is fast as compared to the other anime. The fun begins in the very first episodes you don’t have to wait for 2 to three episodes to the plot to build. The plot is built eventually throughout the series without compromising the entertainment of the viewers.
The anime is really straight to the point and doesn’t have any filler episodes. The seasons are really shorts and straightforward. You don’t require a strong commitment to watch this anime like One piece (If you want to know more about one piece click on One piece). The ending was also satisfactory and didn’t end like crap in most of the Shonen series.
The opening of Mob Psycho 100 is also pretty famous in the anime world as it basically contains a count from 1 to 100. The animation shown in the opening song is filled with all kinds of weird and creepy stuff.
Cons –
The Anime does not contain any significant twists in the series. The storyline is pretty normal and does not have much to root for. Though it is a Shonen anime the plot is really simple as compared to other anime in the same genre.
The size of the anime is very small as it raps up in only 25 episodes. I am sure the fans want more of the Mob Pscho 100 series episodes.

This is a web manga series written by the writer named One. It was published by the dark horse publications. The drawing or the art in this series not very good as you might notice while watching it. Though it has made in many top 10 best anime series of 2018 collection. One’s work is really great and is also known for another biggest hit in the anime world known with the name of One Punch Man.
If you look closely you can figure out they are really the same animation style from the faces they make in the funny scenes and the fight scenes. The huge success of One’s One Punch Man has thrown light on the other projects that he has done so far, which also contain Mob Psycho 100.
