Imawa no Kuni no Alice (Alice in borderland) Honest review

Imawa no Kuni no Alice (Alice in borderland) is a great manga series but as for the anime part it has only 3 episodes and it has a lot less than what the manga has to express. I have seen only the anime series of Alice in borderland. So it is based only on the point of view of the anime series and not manga.

Imawa no Kuni no Alice (Alice in borderland) is an anime based on the survival game between the 3 lifelong friends. The anime basically falls in the Isekai (In which the character is transferred or summoned from the real world to another world), horror, survival, and psychological genre. It is a small and unsatisfying series though the plot of this anime is quite good.

Imawa no Kuni no Alice(Alice in borderland) is a short thrilling anime in which the players are selected from the real world and are transferred to the game world in which there are no people except the selected one, just an abandoned place. It is somewhat the replica of the Tokyo city but a deserted one. It is the borderland that is termed in the name of the anime.

The players have to survive in the game and complete the tasks. On completion of the game, they get days to live based on task difficulty.

Why should you watch Imawa no Kuni no Alice(Alice in borderland)?

Survival anime-

The anime storyline is well established. The plot is not that unique but convincing. The whole anime is based on the survival of the characters that are transferred ion the borderland. So if you like such anime in which the characters have to put their life on the line in each and every episode. You will definitely like this anime.

You can definitely take Danganronpa as a reference for this anime as it also is based on the survival theme. But the animation style and character representation are much better than Danganronpa.

The Writer has definitely put a lot of thought into the survival games to make it interesting for the viewers. For example, the games are divided into special categories based on playing cards such as Diamond, ace, spades, and clubs.

The Diamonds games are based on the knowledge and the fast-paced thinking skills (more of the Psychological type) that the characters have to go through for making it through the game. Then comes the spades which comprise of the physical labor and efforts game. The clubs define a combination of both the diamonds (Mental, Psychological games) and spades (Physical games). The heart category is the toughest in the above games as it tests the mental stability of the characters. The games do this in the worst ways possible like giving hope in the best way possible as per the character and then crushing it in front of them, enough to make them insane.

These games also take tolls on the viewers itself. And to make these games interesting the characters also have an option to select the difficulty of the game. This single thing makes the anime much more enticing and interesting.

Characters and animations-

The characters in this anime are good considering the three-episode barrier the characters have given a great outlook of their background stories enough to make them familiar with you and the other viewers.

The animation style is not that interesting but the storyline matches the animation for its intensity and the emotional states of the character which is the most important thing in such type of horror and psychological anime.

Lots of critical thinking-

The characters have to do a lot of critical thinking even in the spades category which is for the physical type of game. The character really has to go through critical and intense thinking in each of the games. As I have already told you that you can relate it to Danganronpa(If you want to know more about Danganronpa click on them to read their review articles). As the characters in this anime also have to go through a lot of thinking processes in order to survive.

Pros and Cons of Imawa no Kuni No Alice (Alice in borderland)-

Apart from the reasons that we discussed why should you watch this anime series. There are some additional pros in this anime. As you know that this anime is only of three episodes you can finish this anime in a single hour sitting.

The fun begins in the very first episode itself you don’t have to wait much for the plot to build and make its way through the initial episodes. This anime obviously doesn’t have any filler episodes (LoL) and you don’t have to have a strong commitment for this anime like other One piece, Naruto,(If you want to know more about Naruto and One Piece click on them to read their review articles) and other considerably heavy series.

This series has been also adapted in the live action series by Netflix. so you can watch it in the live action form if you are interested

The main con in this anime is the ending. The ending can’t even be considered as ending in this anime though the anime is termed as complete in the anime sites. Well, what can you expect from a three-episode series?

The pace is a little fast in this anime with a hint of romance between the characters and it would have been good if they would have given it more important.
